A geothermal system uses the heat stored in the earth to provide heat and instant hot water to a building. Endless heat is drawn from the earth through an open loop system, which transfers heat to each residence.
The application of geothermal heating has been recognized as "the most energy-efficient and environmentally-sensitive of all available systems" states the Environmental Protection Agency.
'Geothermal' comes from the Greek words 'geo' (earth) and 'therme' (heat), therefore, geothermal means 'the heat from inside the earth'.
